A little Karumba Barra to finish the season

Post by fishaholic5 » Tue Aug 28, 2012 12:03 pm

With the closed season fast approaching and family and work commitments piling up, I made a quick dash to Karumba for a fish on Sunday.

A couple of small threadies trolling, 20 odd micro Barra and this 75cm barra on 6lb made for an enjoyable session on the runout tide

I think this is the smallest Barra I've Caught on a Wedgetail lol

The closed season isn't till the start of October, but I won't have a chance to get back to Karumba till the end of the wet - Time to hit the Dam's instead yay

The locals here tell me it's still too cold for Barra Baz, but I've been having lots of fun on smaller lures lately
It really doesn't take much to keep me amused with 6lb mono lol
I can catch bigger Barra 4 minutes from my front door but finding fish on a day trip to a place I don't fish much is alway's rewarding, Especially when they're on my lures thumbsupsmilie

It's always good to get some fish on your own lures.

I see your lures also go alright on the Newcastle Jews.I haven't tried luring them yet but had a good time earlier this year catching some up to 18kgs.Haven't cracked the 20 yet but I will soon!!

They're great fun on a lure Baz. I Think they're probably my favourite fish, especially off the rock's thumbsupsmilie
Hope you pin your 20kg model soon

Cheers
