Newto's Lures

Post by fishaholiclures » Wed Jan 27, 2010 6:26 pm

Hi all,
Bit of a story here, I scored a couple of Newto's lures of fleabay a while back and have been impressed with the shapes and workmanship, so decided to get a colour set of these lures. Glen Newton hails from the Hunter Valley, which has become something of a luremaking hub in the last 10 years.
I contacted Glen and put the request to him, and he was most obliging and even had to paint up a few as not all models are available in the Fire Tiger pattern I wanted. After a weeks wait for painting etc, they arrived today.

The shrimp (bottom right) I left on his own as a fire tiger would'nt like quite right. The Belly Thumper (bott Left) is one glen made about 10 years ago, I bought it and another in Red Frog in a box lot on fleabay, and when I sent Glen the pics, he remembered making them for a mate who has sinced passed away ( I am sending the Red Frog back to Glen for a keepsake)

Brad

PS If anyone wants to get in contact with Glen, PM me and I will pass on his contacts. I will also encourage Glen to join the trade board.

Good luck dealing with the PMs Brad!

They look very nice clapclap , but would be better in red and black or cww of course - just to save Mully the typing time.

Cheers

Stephen,
He has a few red and black combinations, and I didn't want to encroach on your pond assy

Nothing like a good colour set to show off the different styles.

Sending that lure back is stylish too, well done.

Here are a couple I've had since the start of the Millenium .... think they are Belly Thumpers, but not really sure - just been rattling around in the tackle box lol
