Vintage Fly Poppers - pre 1950's

Post by MXB » Mon Aug 31, 2009 4:30 pm

IHi all . . .

I suppose fishing flies can be big or small . . . heres a few USA vintage poppers in the traditional ribbed 'bee' or 'wasp' pattern. Bodies are cork/wood and they came in an old lot of flies and lures from a pre1950 tacklbox I had the pick of.

I cannot positively ID these and there is a few different manufacturers in this lot . . . the very back one with the red head and yellow eyes has an exploded foam body. These are all extremely well made and the hooks are heavy duty and in great condition for age.

Calf tail wings were the norm in the early days of bass bugs and this allows for extra bouyancy and stability on the water . . . don't use these but good to copy or replicate . . . Can any fly guru ID any of these??
