The Bantam 100

The most collectable of all the Bantams is said to be the Bantam 100. It`s the most common of all the original Bantams, but being the first gives it that special status.

The Bantam 100 was catalogued 1978-81, but still available through to the nineties.

The Bantam 100 SG

1982 seen the upgrade to the 100SG model. The ‘Super Gears’ were claimed to be 30% stronger. These reels were catalogued 1982-84 but like all the early Bantams went through to the early 90`s. They also had the rubberized paddle knobs like the earlier Lew`s Speed Spool.

The Bantam 100X SG

Catalogued in 1985 this reel was fitted with the Graphite Titanium V Spool. It is a rare Bantam and one of the many my collection is lacking. This photo is taken from a listing in the US.

The Bantam 100EX

Catalogued 1978-81. This reel has blue anodizing, impregnated hardwood knobs and was the only Bantam with a metal back plate. This was to allow the "Lure Control" sliding button to be fitted.

The Bantam 100EX SG

Catalogued 1982. First had rubber paddle knobs and until all the old parts were used, a decal was used to signify SG. Later ones were stamped.
This one has the decal.
