The infamous SX40

Post by Station49 » Fri Aug 24, 2007 7:04 pm

So...

what is everyones favourite SX40 (or 48 or 60) colour and technique to use with it?

The SX40 seems to be one of the most popular bream lures out there, and its name gets thrown aroudn a lot when reccomending HBs for bream, trout, etc...

My personal favourite (after trying all of them including the new 8... yikes!!!) is 310 (or as Julz and i call it, "the nightstalker", crakcer name Julz).

fav technique is to just take up the slack and give it a few jerks to dive it down in fast stop-start movements... then let her float up for 2 or 3 second and repeat it... almost always get hit on the float/rise.

im with AR ..Black /Gold is my fav...in a 48 of course...
tech. is a simple 1...I adopt Bushy's old 'attack' retreive on any floating / suspending lure...cast..few quick cranks to get it to depth and stall...wind up the slack, then draw and twitch..wind up the slack and repeat...most of your strikes come @ the end of the pause and as you take of again...

My all time favourite Ecogear is the 317 coloured SX48, this colour lure has caught me some very nice Bream in the past especially at night. I all ways change my rear trebles on my 48's to a size 8 Owner Stinger, after having loosing a nice fish due to a hook bending.
