The way the trebles are attached makes this one very different thumbsupsmilie

thank you for showing it clapclap

Lot of salmon trolling plugs have such or similar "release" hook rigs , Dave , ........often they're also equipped with only one single hook , ........all this is to prevent the fish to lever out the hook during the fight .

There is a modern lure looking like this one exactly , .........the Canadian "Tomic" plug , ........the salmon version(there also is a version with an "ordinary" splitring/two treble rig around) has a bore trough the body leading from the line tie down to the belly hook location , ........a longer leader runs through that bore , the single belly hook is attached to a swivel hidden inside of the bore , ........so when a salmon is hooked on the trolled lure , the lurebody would slide up the leader and the fish can't utilize it for levering out the hook anymore .

I even have a bigger US muskie topwater lure with a similar release rig like this one Roger kindly posted , .......that one is not even attached to the lure body , a hooked fish is played on the harness only , .........the angler would later have to cruise around to pick the lure again from the waters surface , ..........boatfishing only with this lure lol !

Thanks for sharing , Roger , ..............greetz , Dieter howdy
