From the beginning~Almost

Post by Fizza » Mon Apr 27, 2009 2:51 pm

Rapala Kelluva in 9cm Silver I "think" was the 1st in the line when mass production {handmade} began in the latish 1950's.

This info is an approximation only and may not be 100% accurate as I'm going by the paperwork that came with boxed lures.

1st lures had black writing on both the bib & belly as can be seen in the pic below.

Some different boxes along with a bit of a collection of Silver Kelluva lures that run through to the latish 1960's {I think}

Great work Fizza

Need to also put all of my Rapala's in one place and see what I've got.

I just had a look in my Rapala history book and they show floating lures from the 1950's with bibs marked into the plastic, not hand printed on so your example is interesting to say the least.

Look forward to seeing the whole collection!!

I am officially iidiot iidiot iidiot

Had another look at one of the pictures looking for DD information and indeed there is an example with the bib written on - I agree that it makes your example extremely early and a truly special lure!!! droolsmilie droolsmilie droolsmilie
