Here's a 1st model Finnish made 1982 Black Boxed Shad Rap.

Pictured with a later model same patterned lure showing the colour, pattern & shape difference.

Note: The paperwork unlike most doesn't mention any other Rapala lure. Only the Shad Rap.

Early lures had the wire through construction whereas the later don't.

We don't see many of this style box. Also NO glue used on box & lid.

Does anybody know where I can find some pics of old countdowns to get an age on a lure?
Laurie.

Laurie, what are the patterns mate?

I've got around 700-1000 different Rapalas not including variations of boxes with only a couple of gaps.

Rippa little lures HR.

Without being a smart censored gotta few gaps Perrie which is probably a good thing.

I wouldn't encourage anyone to try and fill a Rapala collection, yikes there's squillions of em. {I've tried}

I heard a whisper a while back that Rapala are or have stopped making 5cm Shaddys.

Perrie, NO FT's mate?

Laurie my Rapalas go back to the 60's black ink stamped lures when there were only two patterns {silver & gold} in either 4 or 5 sizes to basically now just as a referrence.
