Lewis's Covergirl- The Heddon Brush Popper

Post by Marrakai » Sun Nov 15, 2009 2:41 pm

After acquiring a copy of Russell Lewis's marvellous book "Heddon Plastic Lures" a couple of months back, I began the search for a nice representative example of the Heddon Brush Popper featured on the front cover. It only took a week to track down this specimen in the US (although it took nearly a month to arrive!!):

This particular model has the buzz-blade at the front, replacing the original propellor-blade in 1979.
It will look rather nice displayed beside a pre-'79 example in Black Scale (...if I ever find one!)

Nice connection Marrakai.

Can you post the book cover?

Having a theme makes the pursuit of a particular lure that little bit more enjoyable.

VERAY NIIICE Brush popper MArrakai...

1 big tip though, the book doesnt seem to like the tropical heat down under and the covers will curl (must be the Nth Hemisphere paper).
I keep mine between copies of Russ's hard cover books when not looking in it thumbsupsmilie

Hey, there's an echo in here...! Image

Point well-made about the curly covers, Brad: ...but I thought it was just from over-perusal !!
Mine always has a few other books parked on top, if not jammed in the over-full 'Fishing' book-shelf!

Simon:
Here's a thumbnail of the book cover:

That's a pre-1979 Brush Popper in BS (Black Scale) with the much neater 'wounded spook' prop-blade.
I want one!!
