Heddon Dowagiac Deep Diving Wiggler - L Rig

Post by MXB » Thu Sep 03, 2009 9:24 pm

Hi all . . . .

OK . . . Here's an oldie and pretty rare . . . a Heddon Dowagiac Deep Diving Wiggler with early L-Rig hardware.

This guy is in pretty good condition overall for a lure over 70 years old . . . hard to find in excellent or mint condition;

Hi all . . .

Here's another one in slightly better condition and in 'Strawberry spot' or Carnival spot pattern;
These lures date to around the 1920's;

They are not going in the pool . . . afraid of what chlorine will do

They are not going in freshwater . . . no they are not getting swum!! lol

@Diemai . . .

They don't have belly weights like many other Heddon lures unless they were weighted internally? They are heavy though and the weight of the hardware would get them down I would assume. They made another lure which is less common called the Near Surface Wiggler which had smaller 'fins' on each side. Got a couple of those somewhere and will post in the future for comparison.

There was also a small plastic version which was made in the 1970-1980's? and is collectable which was made as a small replica but not by Heddon so they have been copied.
Will dig that up when I can too thumbsupsmilie

This little plastic replica was made by Miracle Lure Inc and is called the Little Mo. They came in 3 sizes and 9 colours. Made in Largo, Florida;

Probably earlier than 1970's as the original boxes have no zip code.

Thanks a lot for posting this knock-off , Roger bowsmilie , ...this line tie configuration would come closer to what I'm able to build , ........this genuine Heddon "pigtail"(or whatsoever called) line tie is way too finacky to make (and I don't even want to make detailed copies that may be counted as fakes) .

But it really itches me to give it a go , wanna see sucha lure swim lol !

Thanks again , .....greetz , Dieter howdy
