MXB,
The 200 series surface family have a long history.

First was the 200 Expert 4-1/2" made of wood circa 1902, which was a development of a surface bait to complement the 100, 150 diving minnows. It stayed around in a couple of forms till the early 1920's

In the mid 1920's the 210 Dowagiac Minnow or Super-Surface 210 3-1/2" also in wood was introduced and remained around till the mid 1930's.

Then in 1977 Heddon reintroduced the 210 as the 210 Surface 3-1/2" in plastic. It stayed around until the aquisition of Heddon by Pradco in 1984.

HOWEVER, there was a production run done for the Japanese market sometime in the late 1990's or early 00's.

Great info . . . I knew they had a long history from the early wooden Heddons and have sort have evolved in to those weird looking things . . . the silver bucket heads!! yay lol

Never swum them but would imagine some kind of rotating pusher action while spitting water forward

My guess

lol @ marrakai

almost too close to the truth, the body shape of the later 210's is VERY close to the Zara 2.

I have made a knock-off of this little weird "metal collar" design many years ago , as I was curious about the action , sucha lure would have , ...........don't even know , whether I hit it right , as there were no describtions about eventual added weights inside that collectors book , where I first saw this lure !

Anyway ,.........fished it a couple of times , no strikes occured ,...... now I have dumped it somewhere in mystorage boxes for years ,...........as far as I remember , the action was somewhat like a big popper , but without a pronounced popping sound , but causing big commotion an splash on the surface , ....but yet does not get to spin .

really weird ones , .........greetz , diemai howdy
