Aqua-Rats with Metal Bib

Post by Marrakai » Sat Apr 18, 2009 4:34 pm

FYI, here's a couple of my older Reidy's AquaRat lures made of plastic with a metal bib.
They have both caught a few fish, especially the top one which was my go-to lure for inshore trolling for a year or more at some point in the '90s. Miracle it survived! It is the chrome 'bleeding mullet' pattern, and Jeff didn't like making them as the chrome always flaked off and customers who didn't appreciate the fish they had already caught would complain! I have a few gold-chrome AquaRats and Taipans too. The latter were top lures for flood-plain run-off fishing so most are now lost. One even got crunched-up by a 4-metre crocodile! ...but that's a story for another day! Image

Still looking for one of his original wooden lures for my collection. Must be getting rare as I've never seen one come up online.
Anyone who has one to spare in good condition, willing to trade a timber Edwards for one, or any other timber I may have.
Regards, Tony (Darwin, NT).
