Timber Downunders

Post by wazza » Wed Dec 03, 2008 6:26 pm

Can any 0ne tell me anything about the top downunder, Is it one of the very first timber ones.
It has a different tow point and no markings on the bib were as the second one has downunder stamped into the bib.

Wazza,
I could only hazard a wild guess and say it's 80mm long & only roughly 1000 were made.

The 80mm was the only downunder "mass produced timber lure" made that I'm aware of & I may be wrong.

Laurie/Oldman would know more about these than I do. bowsmilie

Wazza
It could be an early one before "mass production"
But it might not be a genuine.
Wayne Lennon (I think) made an EXACT copy
This caused problems and he had to stop.
Either way its not worth keeping (so send it over)
lol lol lol lol

Wazza
After having another look.
I am going with Wayne Lennon.
The paint job is "more modern" on the top lure.
I cant see the downunder boys going backwards in the pattern,
when they went commercial.
