Deep diving Scorpions

Post by brolly » Mon Oct 04, 2010 8:29 pm

Here's a couple of Scorpion variations that i recently got to add to my collection.Whilst i've seen a couple of other Scorps with the deep diving metal bib like on the larger one,but i've never seen another of the smaller Scorpion with this bib/tow point set up. Brolly

Brolly thanks for putting them up.

The colour scheme on the big one is a bit different, probably to do with the eyes as well.

The little one would be a great lure on it's own but with a different bib and towpoint set up certainly makes it special.

Can you do a close up on the eyes of the big one please.

Great lures thumbsupsmilie

Steve/Simon,the black of the eyes looks sprayed but not the silver pupil.I am only guessing but i can see some Chappy Lawson "River King" similarities like the bib appears to be same dimensions and the the eyes sprayed.Brolly

Hey Brolly,
nice lures and yes that green one is awesome !

That big loud Scorpion looks as though it could have fitted another treble in there !
How big is that one ?

Definately chappy's bib and also the colour scheme is the most popular with locals for Pindari and Copeton particularly for the
65mm River Kings.
I am pretty sure that lure was originally made for Tub Gainey will give him a ring and find out for you.

Thanks Warren, thats why I asked about the eyes. I found this one snagged in Copeton when the level was low, the colour is very close to Brolly's Lure.

Interesting info wazza. clapclap

Would certainly explain the colour if it was very location specific. That particular colour scheme is not one I'd seen before, that needs to be taken in light of not having seen a great deal of them lol .

And possibly the bib if it was to go a bit deeper than standard.

Certainly a very unique and special Scorpion.
