Very old bibless topwater lure

Post by Rupe » Mon Jul 12, 2010 5:01 pm

Hi all,

Here's one of the first topwater bibless lures made by Peter Newell...

Finished with paint that was from a batch he & Dad split between them way back in the day!

One scratch on the side but very good condition for its age...its about the length of a pen (cant find a ruler!)

You dont see many of these so I thought I better put it up!

hope you enjoy!

Very nice. The scale pattern and colour scheme are very old school and just goes to show what they say about everything old being new again with the stickbait.

Thanks for showing us the pics.

Thanks fellas...

@ simon - it IS very old school...the paint colour & size of scales give it away...

were there many variations on the 'stick-bait'?

Very nice lure and as others have said good colours and old school pattern. Definitely shows the Newell design well especially the rear end that looks like many of his other lures.

Very cool clapclap

The top one in this picture is another variation on the stickbait.
