Kadaitcha in the Making !!!

Post by Lure-Nut » Sat Jan 23, 2010 7:28 am

Here are some recent additions, a set of 4 Kadaitchas in various stages of production, showing the evolution of a simple block of wood into a true masterpiece - they are all signed by Peter and represent the ultimate testimony to his lure making genius bowsmilie

Somehow, I think they deserve a better presentation than being stuffed away in my plastic lures trays - will need to work on that thumbsupsmilie

Beautiful stuff, Rob. clapclap clapclap Cherish it for life and never let it out of your sight!

Looks like brown beech (bolly gum). Peter used a lot of brown beech and white beech to make his Kadaitchas and Scorpions.

The brown beech and white beech timbers are like butter to carve and those bigger Kadaitchas can be hard work to carve.

Do you know what timber it is?

Nothing like a set of original Peter Newell Scorpions busting into a Kadaitcha thread .... but here is a set of 170mm Newell Scorpions in the making, similar to the Kadaitcha set above - the Scorpion is my vote for the No1 Aussie lure ever made yay farter

Can see these all getting framed very closely together thumbsupsmilie
