Piece of Newell History

Post by Lure-Nut » Wed Jan 20, 2010 7:11 pm

Here is one of the very first Newell Guppy's ever made, is over 30 years old and signed by Peter. It was given by him to one of his personal long standing close friends and is a wonderful piece of Newell lure making history.

The body is 70mm long and I'm told that the bib was made from Tupperware .... I feel very honoured to be in possession of such a rare Peter Newell lure and a wonderful part of lure making history bowsmilie

Rob,
Do you know if that is the original Newell paint job??
I don't doubt it;but waiting for the knockers who insist that he only ever released a perfect commercial job.

Absolutely 100% original paintwork and was made well before Peter started making lures commercially - my source here is impeccable thumbsupsmilie

Simon .... last time I had a few rare Scorpions, Alistair went out on the hunt and my Deceptionitis affliction proved fatal to my Newell collection - somehow, I think this lure is just too special for me to be tempted this time lol lol lol
