I was told buy a colleague of my wife about him fishing on the Severn river in the mid to late 80's and meeting
a bloke fishing and showing him some lures he was making, The bloke gave him one to try which he never got around to doing.
The colleague asked if I wanted it for my collection he thought the bloke said he called them Scorpions -jawdrop
needless to say it is now safe and sound behind glass with its mates.
Also found a smooth Downunder timber Boomerang in his tackle box that came home with me, It was a good day thumbsupsmilie

Wazza

I am pretty sure that qualifies as a "gold watch" story.

Great addition and a good history to go with it.
