Hooked this one casting a 110mm .

This one was laying under a log in a shallow fast section on the Murray, fullbody 110mm lure did the job again .
Image
This little fella was caught on a 95mm in the faster stuff .

Chicky,
Great photos mate, some big fish there.
Coming from up north have never fished for cod or even seen one in the flesh, I must ask, do you keep any of the smaller ones to eat and if so, what are they like. I know with this age of 'catch and release', some would not, but we eat plenty of barra we catch, especially the saltwater ones up to 80cm.
Excuse my curiousity, but would like to know if they are a good eating fish.
Regards, Tony (Wulagi, NT).

Beginner or pro, doesent matter how good you are, fishings a gambling game. Put your lure in the right place at the right time and it will get smashed!

I was going to reply to your question Capt Seaweed way back then but had some maor dramas with the computer,so i gave up.TO YOUR QUESTION MATE ,I have eaten cod before but hav'nt done it for many years now ,i look at cod fishing more as sport , eating them doesnt give me anywhere near the pleasure as C&R ,that way i''ll hopefully get the chance to meet up with them again when they are bigger. thumbsupsmilie .
