Re: unknown lure

The bib shape and the eyes suggest that it is possibly one of Terry Marshall's lures.

Here's an old lure of Terry's.

Tiny RMG Deep Dan & Scorpion

Sometime around 1989/90 Rob gave me these 2 lures while he was visiting Peter Newell. I've had the Deep Dan stored with a heap of old lures but I only found the tiny Scorpion in the bottom of one of my old tackle boxes, a couple of weeks ago. The Scorpion is the tiniest Scorpion that I've ever seen ...

Re: LIK LIK

Col, a couple of years ago a bloke asked if I could make him some Scorpions and a Lik Lik. I can't remember Peter referring to the Lik Lik, so I hadn't heard of the Lik Lik prior to that request. The Modern Fishing article, from Nov 1986, certainly suggests that it wasn't a myth. I wonder if Peter s...

Re: Newell Merlins ?

The Merlin blanks and bibs actually came from John Bennett - probably somewhere around 1991/1992 ?? Peter was still living in Miles Street, so it would be in that time frame - possibly could have been 1993? Peter gave me a couple of the Merlin blanks and a couple of the tiny Scorpion blanks that Joh...

Re: assistance required

I think these lures have come up before. A bloke at work has one as a key ring and said that he bought it at Raymond Terrace. His lure has "Stump Jumpa" written under it.

Re: Big lot of 'tenterfield style' lures

Definitely none of my lures there.

Most of them are Garra's and Mitto's. There are a couple that I can't identify.

Re: How many lure makers still hand carve lures?

Hi everyone! :) My name is Joe Flint and I am 75 years old. I live in Queensland and I still make hand carved lures using a stanley knife and sand paper. I also make my own eyes and bibs. I mainly use White Beech timber when I can get it. I also use a bit of red cedar. Usaully I use zinc alume bibs...

Re: My Powell Lure's

Very nice Dave, I've a Kadaicha and Mack Attack in the black. Glad to see you've acquired a few. Regards, Tony. Tony, Dave's Retro set looks black in the photos but it's actually an 'olive' sort of colour. In fact, it's actually a yellow base coat with black bars, then oversprayed with a light coat...
